End?!

There is no continuation!? Unfortunately, me and "my" soccer squad fell out from "PTE-TTK CUP" last week. We cannot continue the contest. 'Nyerges FC' finished 3rd position in group B out of 5 teams.

To tell the truth, I am not so sad at present. However, it is a kind of drama how we failed to qualify for the next round. As I wrote earlier, I played some matches at night in the past. Almost every second Monday or/and Tuesday was a matchday. I joined a squad consists of older guys, we were running, fighting, passing, and fortunately scoring goals. Although the major part of the players did not meet regulary, we managed to create a team in which the members know eachother's way of playing soccer more or less. It was quite an advantageous act. Nyerges FC did not loose any of its games!! We had 1 wins and 3draws. Unfortunately, this result wasn't enough to qualify to the next, face-to-face round. 2 squads reached higher position.

Well.. the formula was given...We should 've won one of our 3 draws. Maybe the first one. Our first game in TTK Cup, against the weakest "club". Though, we knew eachother less that time, I guess.. Or the latest match!? They played last year's final, by the way.. So, it is not easy guessing after facts which happened. We played 2-2 against them, anyway. I would mention that almost every teams had at least one lost game out of those who went on playing. /From 2nd positions of each groups/. Interesting. :-) As the local newspaper, called "Univ Pecs" said: "...Nyerges gave its fate onto its own hands after made a won match into a draw.." We led, but the opponent team equalized 2 times. Or, as for the headline itself: "It is possible to fall out without having a lost game". Absolutely...We did the impossible :-D

All in all, it was a good chance to learn and develop. We can be better next year. Who knows?! Maybe we'll more luck and hance to play together. I don't know already whether the team will 'elongate my contact' or not. :-)

I think I did not do my best as I was exhausted and didn't have suitable physical condition during most of the games. Maybe more trainings will help. I am a hobby footballer, after all. ;-)

I'm sorry you and your team failed to qualify, but if we underline that you didn't know each other very well at the beginning, it is not trifle to not lose any match. If they are smart, they will elongate your contact, I'm sure. Anyway, I congrats you.
